Coconut — questions buyers ask

Answers from the trading desk. If yours is not here, put it in the enquiry and it will be answered in the reply.

Thai Nam Hom (sweet fragrance) coconuts possess a unique natural enzyme synthesis that produces 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline (the same aromatic compound found in Jasmine rice and pandan leaves), giving the water and tender flesh an unmistakable fragrant sweetness that cannot be matched by standard green coconuts.

Under strict cold-chain management (+2°C to +4°C), diamond-cut and shrink-wrapped Thai young coconuts have an export shelf life of 60 to 75 days, allowing smooth ocean transit to Europe, the Americas, Australia, and the Middle East.

Because young aromatic coconuts require refrigeration (+2°C to +4°C) while mature coconuts typically travel in ambient dry containers, they are normally shipped in separate container types. However, mature coconuts can be loaded in reefers under specific consolidated cargo settings upon request.
